MOUSEHOLE (pronounced Mow-zel) to LAMARNA BAY,CORNWALL
**Directions To Get Here**
Follow
the M5 or the A30 to Exeter then continue on the A30 right through
Cornwall
to Penzance, you are now just 3 miles from your destination.
Once
you reach Penzance take the road marked to the town centre
the
B3311, as you pass the Penzance Railway Station
follow
the one way system to the left and swing right.
The
road to Newlyn and Mousehole is signposted to the left
along
the coast road.
Mousehole
itself was designed for walking, not driving & cars are
best
left in one of the convenient carparks.
Buses
regularly run to Mousehole, should you want to leave your car
parked
& provide a relaxing way to get around and lets
you
see more of the countryside at the same time.
BEWARE
Once
you arrive you may never want to leave!
**THE WALK**
Take
your Binnoculars,a Picnic,and a Towel
Starting
at the Harbour walk West (the sea on your Left side)
following
the coastal path signs
Walk
around the headland and along the Coast Path,
there
are many opportunities along this path
to
watch the Boats passing you maybe lucky enough to see
Scillonian
3 on its way to the Isles of Scilly
also
to watch the rich array of Sea Birds on the cliffs
and
shore below maybe a Balearic Shearwater
a
dove sized relative of the Albatross
looking
down on Tater Du Lighthouse continue on round the rocky path
pass
a house with boulders piled up at the back of it (picture above)to Lamorna
Cove.
You
can return by the same route or follow the signs from Lamarna Harbour
head
inland then cross country back entering Mousehole behind
the
Bird Hospital then downhill to the Harbour,
Disabled & Less Adgile Ramblers
The
walk from Mousehole to Lamarna is on a Rough coastal path and may not be
suitable for all abiluties,
HOWEVER
dont worry the Villages of Mousehole and Lamarna are excellent places to
explore plus
the
nearby Towns of Newlyn and Penzance
