Weather
>
Cross the A923 and head up the track to Tullybaccart Farm
Follow the route round the right hand side of the Farm
rising
gently to a gate behind the steading. Go through
continue past an overgrown quarry on the right
Continue on the main Forest Track for aprox 1 mile you will
be
approaching Ledcrieff Loch
just before you reach the Loch turn left onto the
Forest Track ( it usually has a bar accross it )
follow
this track steadily climbing and vearing right
after aprox 1 mile you will see a Communications Pylon
with Satalite Dishes on it, thats your target
eventually
you will arrive at it and have a well deserved rest
enjoying the Panoramic Views
you are now right on the shear edge of the Crags, take care
cross
the fence so you are walking with the shear drop on your Left
and the boundery fence on your Right
parts of this decent is steep take care especially in the wet
keep
going up & down on the narrow path until you come to a fence in front
of you
barring your way,at this point look for the new gate in the right hand fence
go through a short climb there is a lot of forestry work here
but
they have made a new path that winds its way down to Ledcrieff Loch
on a good day this is a quiet place for a rest
you can go accross the dam at one end or walk right round the Loch
either
way you will end up at the Forest track with the bar accross it
on your right hand side
dont go that way but go straight on you are now retracing
the
first part of the walk back to the car park
if you are still feeling fit why not explore the walks in
Hallyburton
Community Woodland
that starts in the car park follow the big white sign
