From the west Axminster > 7mls turn left off the A35
turn off on a minor road to Charmouth
just beyond the village fork right along Stonebarrow Lane

on the right just past the Cattle Grid

Conditions,
One steep climb to Golden Cap
Start
turn right out of the car park, past National Trust information centre
on the left
the
path follows the line of Stonebarrow Hill, in the distance to the right
is Golden Cap
continue
on path for half mile to reach gates, go through righthand gate signposted
to
St
Gabriel & Golden Cap then immediately fork left sign to Chardown Hill
the
path runs alongside a fence on the left through several gates and above
the
head of a deep valley on the right
just
after the valley head, after a bench turn right at the fence corner signed
to Upcote
the
path follows fence on the left, at next fence corner bear half right
sign
to Upcote & St Gabriel, follow the path downhill to track at bottom
of slope
turn
left at track which passes between houses at Upcote
at
the National Trust Farm turn left signed to St Gabriels at next junction
turn right
a
private access sign farther on applies to vehicles only, walkers welcome
turn
left at a thatched farmhouse, signed Golden Cap go through gate, follow
track
to the right of the ruined St Gabriel Church
after
Church follow track through gate and along the bottom of a field
through
another gate, turn right along a field edge to a stile on the right
you
can turn left here to Detour to summit of Golden Cap the highest point
at 200 mt
then
return to this stile
cross
stile turn right signed coastal path keep back from the cliff edge follow
path
cross
footbridge after half mile ignore path leading inland, continue on coastal
path
and
cross another 2 footbridges then turn right signposted to Westhay &
Stonebarrow
take
the gate to the right of Westhay farmhouse follow path that merges onto
concrete track
cross
cattle grid after 120 mt where the track bends right, bear half left onto
bridleway
signed
Stonebarrow, ignore all right turns and stile, continue on to car park
