**Directions To Get Here**
From the south
At Stirling leave the A80 Motorway at junction 10 ( signed Crianlarich and Trossachs ) and follow
the A84 past Doune to get your first view of Ben Ledi on the approach to Callander
From the north west
Follow the A85 or A82/85 via Tyndrum and Crianlarich to Lochearnhead,
then continue south on th A84 to Callander

Toilets
at
Station Car Park
Start
with your back to the car park entrance and toilets, turn left through
an overflow car parking area
bear
right up a grassy bank, onto a housing estate road, turn left and
just past a tennis court turn right
onto
a lane with a sign saying "To The Crags" and "Wood Walks" follow
lane which turns into a rough track
to
a sign and information board that includes details of the Callander Crags
and Woodland
turn
right on a path that ascends through woodland, below the crags, there are
Red Squirrels in this area
follow
this path for half mile bending right and cross a footbridge
at
a crossing of paths turn left uphill and continue until path meets a forest
track, turn right
follow
track through woodland below the Crags, descend on track to emerge on a
tarmac road
turn
left on road, climb to reach the Bracklinn Falls car park, detour turn
right on level path
towards
Bracklinn Falls, passing an information board giving details of the Trossachs
area and Falls
at
the end of the path go down some steps to an Iron Bridge over the Bracklinn
Falls
popular
with sightseers since Victorian times, the bridge is high above the Keltie
Water
continue
ahead and follow the road as it climbs steeply, opening out into Meadows
with
the Crags away to the left, just off the road to left a path leads to a
semi circular stone wall
with
a plaque in the centre, this marks the Red Well a mineral spring that produces
water
coloured
iron red, after about half mile where the road bends right and enters woods
you
reach a worn green sign points left to Crags, turn left and follow narrow
climbing path through
woodland
onto open moor, continue to the Summit Cairn, the highest point at 1115ft
retrace
your footsteps to the Bracklinn Falls Car park continue half mile on road
passing a golf course
until
you reach the rear of Arden House, the TV set of Dr Findlays Casebook
take
the footpath running downhill to the left of a garden wall to Ancaster
Road, turn right
and
follow the road back to the Station Car park
**Disabled & Less Adgile Ramblers**
This walk has steep sections and may not be suitable for everyone
however there are many walks in this area, information available
at the Callander Tourist Information
